Conductor-legend for the first time performed in Novosibirsk and highly appreciated the Symphony Orchestra of the Philharmonic

On 27th of March in Novosibirsk for the first time in his career Vladimir Fedoseyev performed – the legendary conductor, celebrating this year his 85th anniversary. American pianist Nicholas Angelich played solo in the concert with Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Vladimir Fedoseyev. The conductor gave the Novosibirsk orchestra the highest rating.

On 27th of March Vladimir Fedoseyev – the legendary conductor, celebrating this year his 85th anniversary performed in the framework of Trans-Siberian Art Festival. The concert in Novosibirsk was the first dedicated to this date. Soloist in the program "Fedoseyev - 85" was American pianist with international career Nicholas Angelich.

"I am happy that in Siberia there is such a musical hearth, such people who love music, love each other very much, and without love nothing can be done at all. Therefore, for me to be here is a great happiness", Vladimir Fedoseyev said. "The orchestra is so sensitive, it obeys so much! To discipline everything together - this happens infrequently".

The conductor said that Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra has never performed before the First Symphony of Weber which he proposed for the concert program and noted that he was very pleased with the work with the collective.

The conductor admitted that offering a completely new work for the concert program for the collective is a certain risk. "But I knew about the orchestra, I heard a lot about it and listened to the recordings, so I risked little", Vladimir Fedoseyev said.

"For me the presence here is a great joy, and I will bring this joy with me to Moscow, I'll tell our Tchaikovsky orchestra how things are going on here, and we'll take an example from you", the maestro said.

Fedoseyev is one of the most famous Russian conductors. For more than 40 years he headed Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra - one of the main symbols of Russian culture in the world.

Vladimir Fedoseyev began his career as a symphonic conductor at the invitation of great Mravinsky. Today he is in demand all over the world. For almost 10 years he led the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. He currently holds the post of visiting conductor at the Zurich Opera, the Tokyo Philharmonic, the Bavarian Radio Orchestra (Munich), National Philharmonic Orchestra of Radio France (Paris), the Finnish Radio Orchestra, the Berlin Symphony, the Dresden Philharmonic and many others.

At a concert in Novosibirsk maestro will conduct the overture to the opera "Der Freischütz" and Weber's First Symphony, also Brahms's Concerto for Piano and Orchestra №2, soloist is Nicolas Anglelich.

Trans-Siberian Art Festival was opened in Novosibirsk on 15th of March and will last to 3rd of April. Tickets for most of the concerts are sold out. The program of the festival and ticket online purchase is available on Philharmonic official website.
