On 25 December a concert dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Novosibirsk State Philharmonic Society will take place on the stage of the Palace of culture of Railway station. This evening Vadim Repin, a world-known violinist, born in Novosibirsk, will appear on the stage with
Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra.
Concert on December 25 will be the culmination of the
International Festival «Classics», devoted to the 75th anniversary of the Philharmonics and the entire jubilee year. Vadim Repin — an outstanding musician, a star of the first magnitude in the world of music, the critics called him «the best of living violinists.» On December 25, Vadim Repin will perform Concerto for Violin and Orchestra of Finnish composer Jean Sibelius with Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of the artistic director and chief conductor Gintaras Rinkevicius. Other philharmonic ensembles also will take part in the concert.

Vadim Repin and Novosibirsk Philharmonic orchestra perform in the frames of the Jubilee International festival “CLASSICS”. The concerts take place from 1 to 26 December. Together with the ensembles of Novosibirsk Philharmonic Society the invited stars take part at the Festival: Boris Berezovsky (piano), Alexander Knyazev (cello), Andrey Korobeynikov (piano), Carel Kraayenhof (bandoneon), conductor Conrad van Alphen, Sona MacDonald (vocal) and other musicians.

Another important event will take place on the day of the jubilee concert at the philharmonic life: on 25 December major construction works in the new concert hall were completed.
The Big Philharmonic hall was removed in 2008, and since that time the philharmonic ensembles performed on the stage of the Chamber Hall; the concerts of large teams, including Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra, took place in the Palace of Culture of railway workers and the Palace of Culture «Stroitel.»
