International Christmas Festival of Arts in Novosibirsk will be opened by the performance of Mikhail Pletnev — pianist, conductor and composer, one of the most extraordinary musicians of our time. The last seven years Mikhail Pletnev did not played as a pianist, he resumed his piano career at the end of 2012. Concert in Novosibirsk will be the first piano performance by musician outside of Moscow since the return. He will play with Novosibirsk Philharmonic orchestra. Conductor – Conrad van Alphen (the Netherlands). The concert will take place at Arnold Kats State concert hall.

Jazz Orchestra of Novosibirsk Philharmonic Society «Siberian Dixieland» was selected by the International Olympic Committee to participate in the cultural program of the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014.

On 18 October Novosibirsk premiere of the oratorio «St. Matthew Passion» written by Metropolitan Hilarion will take place at Arnold Kats State Concert Hall. This composition created in 2006 received worldwide fame and became the basis for the film of Pavel Lungin “Conductor”. The oratorio will be the most significant event of the Festival of Russian Music «Pokrov Autumn.»

Ensemble of early music Insula Magica is back from Croatia, where he took part in the 43rd International Festival «Varaždin Baroque Evenings». Teams from Europe, as well as from Moscow and St. Petersburg, also performed on the stage Varaždin together with Novosibirsk musicians.
