Vadim Repin will close the Trans-Siberian Art Festival with a performance with the new generation star Alexander Buzlov

On 3rd of April in Novosibirsk IV Trans-Siberian Art Festival will be closed. Together with Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Gintaras Rinkevicius, Vadim Repin and Alexander Buzlov, the brightest cellist of the younger generation, will perform in the final concert program. Announcement of earlier performance of Leonidas Kavakos will not take place.

On 3rd of April Trans-Siberian Art Festival will be closed in Novosibirsk with the performance of Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra; solo concert will be performed by Vadim Repin, artistic director of the festival, cellist Alexander Buzlov, conductor is Gintaras Rinkevicius, artistic director and chief conductor of the orchestra. Participation in the program of violinist Leonidas Kavakos announced earlier will not take place because of the musician's illness.

"Unfortunately, Leonidas Kavakos has to cancel his participation in the concerts for the next three weeks for health reasons", said Vadim Repin, artistic director of the Trans-Siberian Art Festival. "His performances at that time were announced in Finland, Moscow and Novosibirsk. Of course, the organizers of these concerts are now in a problem situation. In this regard, I was approached by colleagues from the Moscow Philharmonic Society, they asked me to perform in the program where Leonidas participated. I agreed, having responded to the request of long-time partners and friends, and now on April 1st in the Great Hall of the Conservatory with the State Academic Symphony Orchestra named after Svetlanov under the direction of Vasily Sinaisky, together with the remarkable cellist Alexander Buzlov we will perform Brahms Double Concert, also in my performance the "Gypsy" by Ravel will sound. I thought that it would be interesting to perform this Concert at the Trans-Siberian Art Festival, Alexander readily responded to my proposal, for which I am very grateful. Thus, on April 3rd, Brahms' Double Concert will be performed in our performance at the closing of the festival with the Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Gintaras Rinkevicius. We will try to do everything so that our public will have an unforgettable impression of one of my most beloved works".

According to critics, the duet of Vadim Repin and Alexander Buzlov is an incredibly musical and sensual performance of Brahms' deepest music.

Alexander Buzlov is one of the brightest cellists of the younger generation. Laureate of numerous international competitions, including the International Tchaikovsky Competition, he graduated from Moscow Conservatoire, he worked with such outstanding cellists as Mstislav Rostropovich, Daniil Shafran, Natalya Shakhovskaya.

Trans-Siberian Art Festival was opened in Novosibirsk on 15th of March and will last to 3rd of April. Tickets for most of the concerts are sold out. The program of the festival and ticket online purchase is available on Philharmonic official website.
