Today Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra opens its great European tour with the concert in Zaragoza

On 29th of February Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra opens its great European tour with the concert in Zaragoza. The tour is dedicated to collective’s 60th anniversary. Performance on the stage of Konzerthaus concert hall in Vienna will become tour’s culmination. At the end of the tour the first in the orchestra’s history performance will be held in the Concert Hall of Mariinsky Theatre.
On February 29th Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra will perform on the stage of Auditorio de Zaragoza. The collective will perform Tchaikovsky’s Symphony № 4 and Concerto for Violin and Orchestra. As a soloist famous Russian violinist Alena Baeva will perform, conductor is Thomas Sanderling, principal guest conductor of the collective. The performance will be held at the main venue, in the Mozart Room, received the audience of 1,990 people. This concert will be the first in the European tour program of the collective.
Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra holds great tour around Europe on the eve of its 60th anniversary. For almost two weeks, from February 29th to March 11th the collective will give 8 concerts: four in Spain, two in Germany and one in Austria, on the stage of Konzerthaus concert hall in Vienna. This is one of the most famous concert halls of classical music in the world, receiving world-class soloists and ensembles. During the European tour collective will be conducted by Thomas Sanderling, principal guest conductor of the orchestra. On 11th of March, as the final chord of the tour, the orchestra will perform in the framework of Trans-Siberian Art Festival in the concert hall of Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, and will be conducted by Gintaras Rinkevicius, artistic director and chief conductor of the collective. Violinist Alena Baeva, Leticia Moreno, Mone Hattori and pianist Valentina Lisitsa will perform as soloists in concerts of the tour.

The first concerts of the tour will be held in Spain, where Alena Baeva, famous Russian violinist, will perform as a soloist in three programs. On 29th of February in Concert Hall of Auditorio de Zaragoza in Zaragoza orchestra will perform Tchaikovsky’s Concerto for Violin and Orchestra and Symphony №4. On 1st of March in Concert Hall Alicante Adda in Alicante Brahms’ Concerto for violin and orchestra and Shostakovich's Symphony №5 will sound, and on 2nd of March, Concert Hall Auditorio y Centro de Congresos Victor Villegas in Murcia will held the performance of Shostakovich’s Concerto for Violin and Orchestra and Symphony №5.
The soloist gives concerts with the leading symphonic orchestras of the world, performs in the best concert halls, including the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory and the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Carnegie Hall in New York. She has merited the recognition of general public and authoritative critics.
On 3rd of March in Madrid in Concert Hall of Auditorio Nacional de Música Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra will perform with violinist Leticia Moreno, a student of Zakhar Bron. There are Tchaikovsky’s Concerto for Violin and Symphony № 4 in the program.
Leticia Moreno is the youngest member of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, the winner of international competitions named after Henrik Schering, Pablo de Sarasate, Fritz Kreisler, "Concertino Praga", Competition for Young Violinists in Novosibirsk. Among recent successes of violinist there is tour with Honored collective of Russia St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Yuri Temirkanov.
On 4th of March the German part of the tour will start. Together with Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra pianist Valentina Lisitsa will come to the stage of concert hall Eurogress in Aachen. The program includes Rachmaninoff’s Concerto for Piano and Orchestra № 2 and Tchaikovsky's Symphony № 6. Musicians are performing the same program on 5th of March in Concert Hall Tonhalle in Düsseldorf, and on 7th of March in Concert Hall of Konzerthaus Wien in Vienna.
Valentina Lisitsa is a virtuoso pianist with great repertoire – Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Liszt. The soloist gained great popularity thank to her channel on Youtube. Her total channel’s views exceed the number of 60 million, which is record for classic performer.
The tour will end on 11th of March in St. Petersburg, where collective will have their first ever performance in concert hall of Mariinsky Theatre. The concert will be held in the framework of Third Trans-Siberian Art Festival and will be dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the orchestra. Conductor is Gintaras Rinkevicius, soloist is Mone Hattori (violin). The young student of Zakhar Bron is familiar to Novosibirsk audience with her performance in Second Trans-Siberian Art Festival in April 2015. In the program there are Overture to the opera "Oberon" by Weber, Wieniawski’s Concerto for Violin and Orchestra № 1 and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony № 4.
The highlight of the season for Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra will be a big anniversary concert "60 Years of Triumph", which will be held on March 29th in Arnold Kats State Concert Hall. The concert will be conducted by Gintaras Rinkevicius, pianist Dmitry Masleev, winner of the XV International Competition named after Tchaikovsky (2015) will perform as a soloist.
In April Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra will once again become the basic collective of Vadim Repin’s Trans-Siberian Art Festival. The project will be held in Novosibirsk for the third time already and last from 9th to 24th of April.
