“The concert-opening of the festival "Classics" for Novosibirsk audience  will be a meeting with both two bright young musicians and the compositions which haven’t yet sounded  in our city, - says Vladimir Kaluzhsky, artistic director of Novosibirsk State Philharmonic, - Vyacheslav Kruglik is a St. Petersburg composer, our contemporary, the author of a large number of compositions for solo wind instruments. His Concerto for trumpet and orchestra will sound in our city for the first time. The poem "Meeting of the Volga and the Don", classic of 20th century by Sergei Prokofiev will also be performed for the first time. This music was written on the occasion of the opening of the Volga-Don canal: it predictably creates a picture of great socialist construction, and meanwhile certainly bears a trace of genius of its creator”.
