The music of composer-mystic will be performed by Estonian pianist at the festival “Classics”

On 7th of December the sonatas by the most mysterious Russian composer Alexander Scriabin will be performed in the program of the international festival "Classics". The music of composer-mystic will be presented by Estonian pianist Tanel Joamets. The concert will take place at the most unusual Philharmonic’s concert venue - in the foyer of Arnold Kats State Concert Hall.

On 7th of December in the foyer of Arnold Kats State Concert Hall there will be a concert of music by Alexander Scriabin – a composer-mystic of the beginning of XX century. Estonian pianist Tanel Joamets, considered to be one of the best interpreters of the music of Scriabin, will perform five of his sonatas.

 «Scriabin figure is unique in the history of world music - perhaps no other composer was so keen on mystical teachings. This is explained by both personal inclination, and the general mood of the era, which determined his inner shape. This is the beginning of the twentieth century - the time to find new ways in art and time of esoteric hobbies, - says Vladimir Kaluzhsky, artistic director of Novosibirsk State Philharmonic, - The main content of Scriabin's music is the burning of the spirit. In recent years he worked on the enormous composition which combined music, dance and other forms of art, according to the author, should have been performed in Indian temple in the presence of all mankind. The result of the performing supposed to be the end of the physical world and its rebirth in some higher form. The composition remained unfinished».

On 7th of December at the concert Tanel Joamets will perform five piano sonatas by Alexander Scriabin - from early and more traditional to more advanced - innovative and daring, reflected the mystical world of the composer. Sonatas №№2, 3, 5, 6, 10 will be performed.

Tanel Joamets is the winner of two competitions named after Scriabin, recognized outstanding interpreter of his music. The pianist was awarded the title "Estonian Performer of the Year - 2010", critics call him "a romantic with heightened intuition and bright sophisticated hearing of the sound".

The concert will take place at the most unusual Philharmonic’s concert venue - in the foyer of Arnold Kats State Concert Hall.

International festival "Classics" will be held from 2nd to 8th of December and will bring together seven concerts of international, Russian and Novosibirsk performers in such genres as ballet, ancient and classical music. Among the stars of the festival there are Ilze Liepa, Alexander Rudin, organist Jevgenia Lisicina (Latvia), pianist Tanel Joamets (Estonia) and other stars. According to the organizers, the program includes compositions that represent classic examples of its genre. The slogan of the festival is "Art of the highest standard".
