On 1st of April within the framework of the Trans-Siberian Art Festival the "Children-to-children" program was held. The project became an integral part of the Trans-Siberian Art Festival, and remains one of the most charming and anticipated events of its program. This year, the cultural and educational project TONALI-Tour-Transsiberian, organized jointly with the German national TONALi contest, also entered the program of the festival. In its framework Novosibirsk schoolchildren acted as art-managers.

On 1st of April at Arnold Kats State Concert Hall a traditional concert "Children for Children" was held where young musicians enter the stage. In its program a solemn ceremony of summarizing the cultural and educational project TONALi-Tour-Transsiberian was held.

“This year we offered pupils from non-musical schools to study at first hand all the components of creating a concert of classical music - said artistic director of the Trans-Siberian Art Festival Vadim Repin. - We have seen how successfully the project was implemented in St. Petersburg on the initiative of Valery Gergiev, and if all goes well here, we will do TONALi-Tour-Trans-Siberian permanent”.

Three young performers Mayumi Kanagawa (violin, Germany), Friedrich Thiele (cello, Germany), Hanni Liang (piano, Germany) arrived from Hamburg to take part in the TONALi project. Each of them performed in one of the three schools in Novosibirsk, participating in the project – Educational Center "Gornostay," Lyceum № 22 and Engineering lyceum of Novosibirsk State Technical University. The concerts were organized by schoolchildren themselves, who received knowledge of art management at a special installation workshop, which took place in February in the Chamber Hall of the Philharmonic. As a result of this work at the concert "Children-to-children" the winner was revealed – pupils of the Educational Center "Gornostay".

"This project is necessary in order to break the barrier between artists on the stage and the young audience," says the director of the TONALi contest Boris Matchin. - I am more than surprised by the implementation of this project in Novosibirsk listening to the presentations of participants I saw a high level and potential. Thanks to this project the guys discover new opportunities for themselves and try themselves in new roles what is important for their future".

In addition to the musicians-participants of the TONALi project, two talented pianists Muhamed Alsheikh (Palestine) and Ines Nedelkovska, as well as Youth Symphonic Orchestra named after V.Y. Yankovsky (Novosibirsk Specialized Music School) conducted by Eldar Nagiyev took part in the concert “Children to Children”.

The Festival is supported by: official sponsor of Trans-Siberian Art Festival Joint Stock Company "Russian Railways" (JSCo "RZD"), Sponsor of Trans-Siberian Art Festival SIBUR Holding, general partner of Philharmonic – VTB24 and partner of the Philharmonic Public Company Moscow Exchange.
