On 1st November a press conference with the participation of Vadim Repin, Oleg Bely, Minister of Culture of Novosibirsk Region Igor Reshetnikov and the leaders of Novosibirsk Philharmonic Society took place at Arnold Kats State Concert Hall.

Vadim Repin noted that today Trans-Siberian Art Festival has become the most important part of his life in the professional and musical sense. The geography of the project is constantly expanding; every year world-famous performers, representing the sphere of academic music, join this project.

A program devoted to Russian music is planned to be performed in the spring 2019 with the participation of Tugan Sokhiev who will conduct the Second Concerto of S. Prokofiev (where Vadim Repin will solo himself) and D. Shostakovich's Fifth Symphony. It is known that Natalia Lomeiko and Denis Kozhukhin will be among the participants of the VI Trans-Siberian Art Festival.

At the press conference Vadim Repin announced the project dedicated to the Year of the Theater - a concert performance of R. Wagner’s opera “Tannhäuser” under the conduction of Dmitry Yurovsky. In addition, within the framework of the Festival a work by a Siberian composer will be performed. The maestro emphasized that the plans and concert programs of the Art Festival are constantly being adjusted.

Vadim Repin noted that an important direction in the framework of the Trans-Siberian Art Festival is working with young musicians. The program, which began five years ago as master classes, developed into master courses that you can get to throughout the year. Professors who conduct master classes in Novosibirsk, at the same time recruit students to participate in projects on the big stage.

The artistic director of Novosibirsk Philharmonic Society Vladimir Kaluzhsky emphasized that during the existence of the Trans-Siberian Art Festival its own traditions have been formed. Thus, every year the project management orders the work of a particular genre to the Siberian organization of the Union of Composers. Last year, the music of A. Molchanov was performed in the violin concert genre, this year a competition for writing a symphonic poem was announced.

As before, the main venue of the Trans-Siberian Art Festival remains Arnold Kats State Concert Hall, which is the same age as the Project. There is less than a week left before the start of sales for the Festival’s concert programs.
