More than 70 thousand people all over the world visited the concerts of Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra 60th season

On 25th of June Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra performed in the open air free concert of popular classical music on Lenin Square. The program was dedicated to the City Day and finished the events of orchestra’s  60th season. This performance was preceded by two open air concert – on June 18th collective performed a historical reconstruction concerts of its first performance in 1956 in the city Novoaltaisk and on June 22nd in the framework of the "International Forum of Peace" Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra performed the Seventh "Leningrad" symphony of Dmitry Shostakovich on Lenin Square.

«"For the collective it was a year rich for the events - two European tours, a concert in the hall of the Mariinsky Theatre, Third Trans-Siberian Art Festival, as well as a return to basics in Novoaltaisk, - says Director General of the Novosibirsk Philharmonic Tatiana Lyudmilina. – The end of the season with free open air concerts showed the city that high art is available here and now. And for us, and, I think, for the city it is very important that for the third year collectives of Philharmonic become the main musical performers in the program of celebration of the city's main festival, including Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra, which performed two programs outdoors at the end of the season. This season, our legendary orchestra gave about 80 concerts attended by over 70 thousand people».

Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra is a leading academic collective of Novosibirsk, celebrated in this concert season its 60th anniversary. Events dedicated to this remarkable date of the collective, continued throughout the season.

The orchestra performed an open air concert in Novoaltaisk on June 18th: in this small town, the first in the history of the orchestra concert was held in 1956. After 60 years, the collective returned there to present city residents a program of popular classical music.

On 10th June ten musicians and workers of Novosibirsk Academic Symphony Orchestra were awarded the State Prize of the Novosibirsk region.

In April Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra for the third time became the base collective of Vadim Repin’s Trans-Siberian Art Festival. The largest festival, which appeared on the musical map of Russia, became possible, according to its artistic director, Vadim Repin, thanks largely to the orchestra, to the level which corresponds to the highest world standards. For the third year collective come up to the stage in the festival’s concerts with world-class conductors and musicians, including, this year, such as Mischa Maisky, Pinchas Zukerman, Vadim Repin and others.

The highlight of the season was a big anniversary concert, which took place on March 29th in Novosibirsk Arnold Kats State Concert Hall. The orchestra was conducted by Gintaras Rinkevicius, pianist Dmitri Masleev, the winner of the XV International Competition named after Tchaikovsky (2015) performed as soloist.

In late February and early March, the orchestra held a big European tour. Seven concerts of the collective were sold out in the halls of cities such as Zaragoza, Alicante, Murcia, Madrid (Spain), Aachen and Dusseldorf (Germany), Vienna (Austria), St. Petersburg. More than 10,000 listeners attended these concerts, as a result there were high critical acclaims and new proposals to perform in the European halls. In September, Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra opened the season of tour in Italy. The tour included three concerts in Turin and Verona.
