On 8th of December Novosibirsk Philharmonic International Festival "Classics" will be finished with a concert of Moscow Chamber Orchestra, Musica Viva conducted by Alexander Rudin. The unique musician this evening is not only raised over the conductor's desk, but also act as a soloist, and in one composition he will play the cello, in the other - on the piano.

On 8th of December within the framework of the final concert of the international festival "Classics" Moscow Chamber Orchestra Musica Viva will present a program of classical music. Alexander Rudin is a unique musician, standing at the head of the orchestra, this evening will perform as not only a conductor but also as a soloist, and demonstrate mastery skills playing cello and piano. His solos will be performed at the Concert for Piano and Orchestra by Mozart, Concerto for Cello and Orchestra by Boccherini. Also this evening Novosibirsk audience will hear Serenade №6 by Mozart and Haydn's Symphony №49.

“Orchestra Musica Viva is a truly unique collective, a well-known by not only uncompromising skills, but also by passion for the study of neglected masterpieces, - says Vladimir Kaluzhsky, artistic director of Novosibirsk State Philharmonic, - Those compositions the orchestra will perform in Novosibirsk, is classic in the highest sense. Alexander Rudin is one of the brightest representatives of contemporary Russian music. Cellist with world-renowned name, conductor who cooperates with symphony and chamber orchestra, pianist, outstanding ensemble player, teacher - a professor of the Moscow Conservatory, researcher of old scores, the author of orchestral editions of chamber music, composer of unique thematic cycles - all these creative manifestations Alexander Rudin realizes himself equally well.

He headed the orchestra Musica Viva in 1988. Under his leadership, the collective has found a unique creative role and has achieved a high level of performance, becoming one of the leading Russian orchestras. Today Musica Viva is a versatile ensemble, which feels free in a variety of styles and genres. The wide stylistic range of the orchestra allows it to perform both musical rarities and the works of contemporary composers at the same high level.

International festival "Classics" will be held from 2nd to 8th of December and will bring together seven concerts of international, Russian and Novosibirsk performers in such genres as ballet, ancient and classical music. Among the stars of the festival there are Ilze Liepa, Alexander Rudin, organist Jevgenia Lisicina (Latvia), pianist Tanel Joamets (Estonia) and other stars. According to the organizers, the program includes compositions that represent classic examples of its genre. The slogan of the festival is "Art of the highest standard".
