Tomorrow in Novosibirsk Trans-Siberian Art Festival opens with a concert dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Philharmonic

The fourth Vadim Repin’s Trans-Siberian Art Festival will be opened in Novosibirsk on March 15th and will last until April 3rd. Its first concert will be dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Novosibirsk State Philharmonic, which has been a key partner of the project since the first year of its existence. The largest international forum of the country will unite 15 concerts with participation of world stars in Novosibirsk and the cities of the region. The average price of tickets for the festival in 2017 was almost twice lower than the prices of the previous festival. At the moment, tickets for most of the festival's concerts are sold out.

"Interest in the Trans-Siberian Art Festival this year is phenomenal. I associate this fact with the magnificent program and impressive composition of the performers. I note that this year we significantly reduced the price of tickets, which allowed more people and visitors to attend concerts of the most important cultural project of Novosibirsk region, which is dedicated to its 80th anniversary, - notes the Director General of Novosibirsk Philharmonic Beibut Mukhamedin. - Special attention of our listeners was caused by the concert of Vladimir Spivakov and the State Chamber Orchestra "Moscow Virtuosi" - tickets were sold out for three weeks. This phenomenon is quite understandable - Vladimir Spivakov and his collective are some of the most famous Russian musicians who set trends in modern classical performance".

The concert on March 15th, at which Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra will be conducted by American conductor Lawrence Foster, will present a program of American music. The soloist is French pianist Dana Ciocarlie. The concert will be dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Novosibirsk State Philharmonic Society, the largest concert organization in Russia, which has been the main partner of Trans-Siberian Art Festival since the first year of its conduct.

Currently tickets for eight of the twelve concerts of the festival at its main venue, at Arnold Katz State Concert Hall, are completely sold out. There are still tickets for the concert-opening of the festival on March 15th, the concert with Pablo Ferrandes (cello, Spain) and Andris Poga (conductor, Latvia) with Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra on March 24th, concert of legendary conductor Vladimir Fedoseev and Nicholas Angelich (piano, USA) with Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra on March 27th, the project "Children for Children" on April 1st.

Fourth Vadim Repin’s Trans-Siberian Art Festival will be held in Novosibirsk from 15th of March to 3rd of April. In 2017 Festival will be dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Novosibirsk Region. Some concerts are also devoted to the anniversary dates. 

The first concert of the festival is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Novosibirsk State Philharmonic Society - the biggest concert organizations in the country, being the main partner of Vadim Repin in the organization and leading the festival from the beginning of its history. At the concert on 15th of March Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra will perform – the leading Philharmonic collective, basic team of the festival. American music program will sound under the baton of Lawrence Foster (USA), soloist is pianist Dana Chiokarli (France).

The concert on 20th of March will be devoted to 60th anniversary of Novosibirsk Conservatory, where together with student collectives the graduators of Zakhar Bron class will perform – Vadim Repin and Natalia Prishchepenko, conductor is Alexey Shatsky.

Also in the frameworks of the festival there will be traditional three concerts in the cities of Novosibirsk Region – Ordynskoye, Iskitim and Berdsk. The forum program will include traditional project "Children - to children", a program of chamber music, demonstration of Bruno Monsaingeon’s movies and creative meeting with him, as well as many other events. Invited collective of this year's festival will be State Chamber Orchestra "Moscow Virtuosi".

Among the stars of the festival there are Vladimir Spivakov, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Nicholas Angelich, Leonard Schreiber, Pablo Ferrandes, Alexander Knyazev and other musicians.

One of the key participants of the project remains Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra, which will perform in five programs. Vadim Repin has repeatedly emphasized the crucial role played by the collective in the implementation plan of the Trans-Siberian Art Festival. Also in the festival concerts will feature such collectives of Novosibirsk Philharmonic as Chamber Orchestra and Choir Chapel.

The main venue of the festival has always remained Arnold Kats State Concert Hall - the new Philharmonic Hall, which was opened in 2013 and, according to Vadim Repin, became one of the necessary conditions for the implementation of the idea of ​​the festival.

The first Trans-Siberian Art Festival was held in March-April 2014, it was dedicated to the memory of the conductor Arnold Kats, who created in 1956 Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra and directed it until passing away in 2007. In three years of existence the festival in Novosibirsk, thank to it, performed such musicians as Charles Dutoit, Leonard Slatkin, Kent Nagano, Olga Borodina, Lera Auerbach, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Svetlana Zakharova, Rudolf Buchbinder, Pinchas Zukerman, Mischa Maisky, Daniil Trifonov and many others .
