Novosibirsk Filarmonica-Quartet performed at prestigious French festival on the eve of its anniversary
On 19th and 21st of August Novosibirsk State Philharmonic Society’s string quartet Filarmonica gave concerts in the festival "Crazy Piano" in Le Touquet. In the program of one of France's most prestigious festivals Novosibirsk Quartet performed together with such Russian musicians as Boris Berezovsky, Alexander Knyazev, Andrew Korobeynikov, Alexander Vedernikov. The first in the season performance of the Filarmonica-Quartet will be held on September 23rd: concert "Formula of Success" will be dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the collective and the musicians will present not only classical, but also jazz roles.
On 19th and 21st of August Novosibirsk Filarmonica-Quartet performed at the festival "Crazy Piano". One of France's most prestigious festivals held in the city of Le Touquet, the fashionable seaside resort in the north of the country, for the eighth time. This year's festival lasted from 13th to 21st of August and brought together over 150 musicians who performed in 60 concerts.
Filarmonica-Quartet presented a program of works by Mozart, Mendelssohn and Prokofiev. On 19th August it was performed at the Palais des Congrès, on 21st August in the cultural center of the ancient castle of Château d'Hardelot.
Novosibirsk String Quartet first performed in the "Crazy Piano" Festival’s program in 2012 - then those were joint concerts with pianist Ivan Urvalov, who used to be a constant creative partner of the collective. This year the Filarmonica received an invitation from the directorate of the festival once again to perform in Le Touquet, wherein the musicians presented an unconventional for the festival program repertoire - without the piano.
“Our performances were successful and bright. The Festival presented a unique atmosphere and the joy of fellowship. It was nice to see among the listeners of our concert such famous musicians as Alexander Knyazev and Boris Berezovsky. Both of them performed in Novosibirsk, with Alexander, we have repeatedly performed on the same stage,"- said Valery Karchagin, artistic director of the Filarmonica-Quartet.
“Up to the popularity the festival "Crazy Piano" significantly competes the most famous piano festival in France "La Roque d'Antheron", says the Filarmonica-Quartet manager Galina Bork, - Form of the festival is responsible to its name: the program includes an incredible number of concerts in which the piano, first, combined with a wide variety of instrumental compositions, and, second sounds in unfamiliar situations - for example, outdoors or even on moving through the streets platform. The organizers of the festival can achieve the extraordinary, a little crazy, very creative, liberating atmosphere in which the whole city is submerged. Music finds you on the street, even if you just go to the store - and you cannot pass by, you stop and listen".
Filarmonica-Quartet will perform on their home stage on 23rd of September. In the Chamber Hall of the Philharmonic musicians will present the program "Formula of Success", dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the collective. The concert program, along with classic, will include jazz composition, created by the composer Igor Dmitriev specially to the anniversary of the quartet. Also in the new concert season Filarmonica-Quartet will present the traditional subscription cycles in Novosibirsk and Akademgorodok, and will perform in the framework of "Chamber evenings” cycle: “The Poetry of Strings" and "Strings Harmony".
