Vladimir Nikulin was born in 1957 in Prokopyevsk, Kemerovo Region.
He got primary and secondary musical education by accordion class. He has finished the course of bayan at Novosibirsk State Conservatory (Academy) named after M.I. Glinka (the class of professor Rosanov G.A.)
Vladimir Nikulin served in the ranks of the Soviet Army as a part of the Ensemble of Song and Dance of the Siberian Military District.
From 1983 to 1999 he worked as a concertmaster in the Folk Dance Ensemble. He is the founder and director of music school in Krivodanovka village (the suburb of Novosibirsk). These years Nikulin leaves bayan and gets back to the accordion again.
For two years (1999-2000) he had been working under the contract in South Korea in the instrumental trio: accordion, violin, vocals. Together with Ekaterina Plotnikova he created in 2000 the duet "Exclusive" (flute, accordion).
Vladimir Nikulin has been working as a soloist of Novosibirsk State Philharmonic Society since 2004. He actively cooperates with various philharmonic collectives: Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra, Variety Symphony Orchestra, Novosibirsk Orchestra of Russian Folk Instruments, Concert Brass Band. He also performs in a duet with singer Dilara Vorfolomeyeva. And yet, solo programs form the main part of Nikulin's philharmonic performances. The artist gives more than 30 concerts a year.
Since 2004 Vladimir Nikulin has been leading the class of accordion in Novosibirsk Music College named after A.F. Murov.
He is the laureate of Open competition of performers on folk instruments "Cup of Siberia" (Barnaul, 2002, cup and special prize); the laureate of the International Competition named after I.I. Malanin in two categories: 1st prize in the category "Concert Performers-Professionals", as part of the duet "Exclusive" - 1st prize in the category "Ensembles" (Novosibirsk, 2003); the laureate of the International Competition "Dizzying Accordion" (Barnaul, 2006, 1st Prize); the laureate of the International Competition Città di Castelfidardo (Italy, 2014).
