The X International Christmas Festival of Arts is opened by concert of Mikhail Pletnev

On 1 December the concert by Mikhail Pletnev and Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra opened the X International Christmas Festival of Arts in Novosibirsk.
Musicians under the direction of Conrad van Alphen performed piano concerts by Haydn and Mozart. The concert was the first piano performance of Mikhail Pletnev outside Moscow after seven years break.
The Governor of Novosibirsk region Vasily Yurchenko, the vice-governor Kirill Kolonchin, the mayor Vladimir Gorodetsky, the Minister of culture Vasily Kuzin, the vice-ministers Victor Bulankin and Igor Reshetnikov assisted at the opening pf the concert.
The International Christmas Festival of Arts is a traditional biennale of musical and theatrical events. It will last the whole month. The following world stars participate in the festival: Dmitry Hvorostovsky, Boris Berezovsky, Nigel Kennedy, Jean-Luc Ponty, Sergey Nakaryakov, Moscow chamber choir under the direction of Vladimir Minin. The invited musicians will appear on the stage together with the ensembles of Novosibirsk Philharmonic society.
The International Christmas Festival of Arts is organized by the Government of Novosibirsk region, the Ministry of Culture of Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of Novosibirsk region, Novosibirsk academic youth theater “Globe”, Novosibirsk state philharmonic society.
