The Grammy Laureate, early music specialist, harpist Andrew Lawrence-King (Great Britain) will perform in Novosibirsk together with the ensemble of early music “Insula Magica”.

The musician received one of the most prestigious awards of the music industry in 2010: the CD “The Borgia Dynasty”, featuring Andrew Lawrence-King as a part of the team Hesperion XXI, won the award for “Best Small Ensemble Performance”.

In Novosibirsk Andrew Lawrence-King and his wife, the baroque harpist Ekaterina Antonenko, together with the early music ensemble “Insula Magica” will present the program «The harmony of three worlds», dedicated to Spanish music of the periods of Renaissance and Baroque.

«The main event of the concert is the first ever performance of the music of Spanish oratorio, dated 1704, — artistic director of the early music ensemble “Insula Magica” Arcady Burkhanov said, — The unique scores were sent to us by Andrew Lawrence-King, he also assured us that this would be the third performance in the world (in up-to-date history, of course) and surely the first in Russia». Along with the first Spanish oratorio, Spanish, Mexican and African dance music will be performed at the concert.

First collaboration of the early music ensemble “Insula Magica” and Andrew Lawrence-King took place in 2011 in the frames of the International Christmas Festival of Arts. That time the musician arrived to Novosibirsk with his ensemble The Harp Consort and performed the music of Spanish Renaissance.
