The music of Shostakovich’ friend and the founder of the Siberian school of composition will be performed in Philharmonic by Novosibirsk orchestra of Russian folk instruments

On 29th of November in the Philharmonic Chamber Hall will be held a concert dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Union of Composers. Music of Siberian composers will be performed by Novosibirsk orchestra of Russian folk instruments conducted by Vladimir Gusev and Rustam Dilmukhametov. Also will be performed Symphony №6 by Askold Murow who’s one of the founders of the Siberian school of composition, his friendly and creative relations tied him with Dmitri Shostakovich.

On 29th of November Philharmonic Chamber Hall will host a concert of the oldest collective of Novosibirsk Philharmonic Society - Novosibirsk orchestra of Russian folk instruments. The performance will feature works by Siberian composers - both our contemporaries, and the authors of the older generation, including - Askold Murov - one of the founders of the Siberian school of composition. Siberian composer was related in a friendly and creative way with the classic of the XX century, one of the largest Soviet composers Dmitri Shostakovich. In 1970 Askold Murov wanted to leave Novosibirsk because of criticism from the authorities deployed against him. Biographers believe that only a personal request of Shostakovich influenced the decision of the composer's stay in Siberia.

“This year the Siberian branch of the Union of Composers of Russia celebrates its 75th anniversary, and of course the Philharmonic cannot stay away from that date, - says Vladimir Kaluzhsky, artistic director of the Novosibirsk Philharmonic, the chairman of the Siberian organization of the Union of Composers of Russia - In early November, the music program of Siberian composers was presented by the main collective of the Philharmonic - Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra. The upcoming concert will feature works created for the orchestra of Russian folk instruments, many of which were written specifically for Novosibirsk orchestra of Russian folk instruments, which will perform them”.

The concert program includes compositions and fragments from the works of Yuri Yukechev, Georgi Ivanov, Sergey Kravtsov, Eugeny Kravtsov, Ilya Alexandrov, Alexander Novikov.

The concerts program will be finished with the performing of Symphony №6 by Askold Murov – one of the founders of the Siberian school of composition.
