Christmas Festival will be opened by the concert of Mikhail Pletnev

International Christmas Festival of Arts in Novosibirsk will be opened by the performance of Mikhail Pletnev — pianist, conductor and composer, one of the most extraordinary musicians of our time. The last seven years Mikhail Pletnev did not played as a pianist, he resumed his piano career at the end of 2012. Concert in Novosibirsk will be the first piano performance by musician outside of Moscow since the return. He will play with Novosibirsk Philharmonic orchestra. Conductor – Conrad van Alphen (the Netherlands). The concert will take place at Arnold Kats State concert hall.

International Christmas Festival of Arts is a Biennale that traditionally includes musical and theatrical events, it will last all month and will end on 26 December. The performances of such stars of the world music scene as Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Boris Berezovsky, Nigel Kennedy, Jean -Luc Ponty, Sergei Nakariakov, Dorotea Mele, Moscow State Academic Chamber Choir conducted by Vladimir Minin and others will also perform in Novosibirsk in the frames of the festival. The invited musicians will share the stage together with the philharmonic teams.
International Christmas Festival of Arts is organized by the Government of Novosibirsk Region, the Ministry of Culture of Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of Novosibirsk region, Novosibirsk Academic Youth Theatre «Globe», Novosibirsk State Philharmonic Society.
