September 18 is a special date for all those involved in the life of Novosibirsk Philharmonic. This day for us is forever associated with the legendary personality - Arnold Kats.
This year marks the 96th anniversary of the Maestro's birthday. And according to tradition, Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra opens its Subscription №1 in the State Concert Hall named after A.M. Kats on this day. From year to year listeners come to the concerts of this subscription who appreciate the sound of the orchestra created by Arnold Kats. Over the years of its existence, the orchestra has worked with a galaxy of world famous conductors and soloists, it is famous and beloved in Russia and abroad.
At the first concert of the most popular Subscription the orchestra will perform under the baton of chief conductor and artistic director Thomas Sanderling, soloist - People's Artist of Russia, soloist and conductor of the Mariinsky Theater, artist of the Academic Symphony Orchestra of Leningrad Philharmonic, professor of St. Petersburg Conservatory, artistic director of St. Petersburg House of music Sergei Roldugin (cello). The famous cellist will perform with the Laureate of the XVth Tchaikovsky Contest Pavel Milyukov (violin).
The program includes Brahms' Concerto for violin and cello and Beethoven's Second symphony.
