Exclusive Siberian project and world premiere will be presented today at the Trans-Siberian Art Festival

Today, on March 29, the Trans-Siberian Art Festival will present to the public an exclusive project "Made in Siberia": musicians will appear on the stage, the fate of most of whom is connected with Novosibirsk; the program will include the world premiere of the Concerto for Violin and Orchestra created by the Siberian composer Andrey Molchanov. On April 4, the project "Made in Siberia" will be presented by the festival in Krasnoyarsk and will include the world premiere of the "Concert for the Chef and Orchestra", created by the Krasnoyarsk composer Mikhail Krutik.
On March 29, during a concert in Novosibirsk, two famous violinists, born in Novosibirsk - artistic director of the Trans-Siberian Art Festival Vadim Repin and concertmaster of the famous Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra Anton Barakhovsky, and young pianist Roman Borisov will perform on stage. With them on stage will be Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra and its artistic director and chief conductor Thomas Sanderling. A representative of the dynasty of German conductors, he was born in Novosibirsk in the years of evacuation to the city of Symphony Orchestra of the Leningrad Philharmonic, in which his father worked. Also on the stage this evening will be world-famous cellist Alexander Buzlov.
“The idea of the concert arose for a long time and, as it is easy to imagine, it consists in the performance of the music of Siberian composers by musicians born in Siberia. However, we do not want to limit the geography of the life of this project, on the contrary: there is an idea in its representation all over the world,” says Vadim Repin, artistic director of the Trans-Siberian Art Festival.
The program will include the world premiere of the Concerto for Violin and Orchestra of the Siberian composer Andrey Molchanov. The composition was submitted for participation in the contest announced by the Trans-Siberian Art Festival together with several other scores of Siberian authors and it won: it will be performed by Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Thomas Sanderling, solo part will be performed by Anton Barakhovsky.
Along with the world premiere, the concert program will also include Shostakovich's Trio 1, Variations on the Rococo theme for cello by Tchaikovsky, Concerto No. 5 for violin and orchestra by Mozart and Suite from the ballet Romeo and Juliet by Prokofiev in the version of Arnold Kats, the founder and for almost 50 years, the permanent leader of Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra.
In Krasnoyarsk, the concert "Made in Siberia" will be performed on April 4 and will complete the program of the Trans-Siberian Art Festival in this city. On the stage there will be violinists from Novosibirsk Vadim Repin and Anton Barakhovsky, as well as a native of Irkutsk, violist Andrei Gridchuk and bass baritone Pyotr Migunov. On the stage together with them there will be Krasnoyarsk Academic Symphony Orchestra under the direction of artistic director and chief conductor Vladimir Lande.
In the concert program, along with the world premiere of "Concert for the Chef and Orchestra" by Mikhail Krutik, Concerto No. 5 for violin and orchestra and Concert Symphony for Violin and Viola and orchestra by Mozart and Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso by Saint-Saens will be performed.
The concerts of the fifth Trans-Siberian Art Festival, headed by Vadim Repin, will be held from March to July 2018. The festival program in Novosibirsk will end of 2nd April, though the Russian part of the Festival will last to May 13 and will include Krasnoyarsk, Moscow, St. Petersburg and Samara in its route. The foreign part of the route will take place in the USA and Japan in June and July.
The key point in the geography of the festival is Novosibirsk - the hometown of the artistic director of the project. By tradition, small towns of the Novosibirsk region will not be left without attention, the list of which has expanded significantly this year: Berdsk, Krasnozyorskoe, Toguchin, Karasuk.
One of the key participants in the project is Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra. Vadim Repin repeatedly stressed the decisive role played by the collective in implementing the idea of the Trans-Siberian Art Festival. The main venue of the festival always remains the Arnold Kats State Concert Hall - the new Philharmonic Hall opened in 2013 and, according to Vadim Repin, has become one of the necessary conditions for the implementation of the idea of the festival.
To date, the Trans-Siberian Art Festival has been highly appreciated by the Government of Russia, its programs are included in the cultural presentation of the country at the international level.
