Arkady Shilkloper and Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra opened the festival "M’Art Code" with Symphony dedication to the group "YES"

On 1 March, in Novosibirsk, the opening of the Festival of Contemporary Music "M’Art Code" took place. In a cycle of five concerts, listeners are awaited by original arrangements of rock music, compositions by modern Novosibirsk composers, avant-garde experiments of venerable adepts of this style, as well as musical, literary and plastic performances.

At the opening of the festival at Arnold Kats State Concert Hall, the world-famous jazz musician Arkady Shilkloper and Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra presented a program dedicated to the legendary British art rock band YES.

Along with the themes of the legendary art rock band, the symphonic classics were also performed in the program: “Finale” from the suite of Igor Stravinsky “The Firebird”, the third part from the IV Symphony by Johannes Brahms and the symphonic poem by Jan Sibelius "Finland."

The author's compositions of Arkady Shilkloper and Peter Ivshin were also performed in the concert.

The festival of modern music "M’Art code" is held in Novosibirsk Philharmonic Society for the fifth time. Modern music will be performed in concert programs, as well as rarely performed works of composers of the twentieth century.

In 2018, the festival "M’Art Code” will present to the audience the music of Novosibirsk composers performed by the Ensemble of Soloists "Novosibirsk Camerata" (artistic director - Honored Artist of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Fabio Mastrangelo), the author's concert of the legendary Moscow avant-gardist Viktor Ekimovsky, the literary production “Yprit" and the plastic fantasy "Concerto Grosso. Double ", in which music, literature, dance, drama, history are intertwined in an unusual way.

The concerts of the festival will be held in Arnold Kats State Concert Hall, and at the venues of the Chamber Philharmonic Hall.
