J. S. Bach. St John Passion BWV 245

For many listeners of Bach’s "Passion" –is the highest achievement of Western music both on the concert stage and in church worship. Originally written for the Easter services in the Protestant church, the work consists of several semantic components that the composer presents in various musical forms: the evangelical story about the last days of Christ's life is told by the tenor-evangelist, for lyrical digressions Bach added contemplative solo arias, and the reverence of the parish is reflected in a dozen known in Germany chorales - Protestant chants. The listener admires the mastery and unlimited imagination with which Bach combined such different genres and created one monumental whole, preserving both the spirituality of the plot and the theatricality of the story. In Novosibirsk, conductor Ilia Korol, master of old, authentic music, will bring a young team of soloists - experts in German church music. All of them studied and work mainly in Austria and Germany.
